The path starts from Moni, a village with great tradition in the craft of weaving and stone quarry. It then leads to Sifones, a place full of vegetation and water springs and a deserted village where its remained stone-built houses stand in the passage of time. Moving towards to the north and with a broad view of western Naxos, we continue upwards following the paved trails across old farmers’ houses (mitata in the local greek) and impressive landscape characteristics. We then reach the top of the Fanari mountain, where the view of the landscape is fantastic. The trail continues on a rural road, until it reaches the uphill path to Apeiranthos – one of the most famous villages of Naxos. From there the route can either stop to Apeiranthos or continue to the opposite direction ending again at the Moni village. The circular path has a distance of 10km with a duration of almost 4 hours with an intense difficulty.
